COBIT Foundation Training

At the last AeHIN General Meeting in Manila on 23-24 September 2013, more than 60 participants from 16 countries expressed interest in a structured methodology for formalizing the national eHealth strategy into a set of action lines. Experts were invited and several confirmed the relevance of a blueprint in guiding the countries into their national eHealth development which can clarify the important components required for an effective and responsive eHealth system.

On May 2014, AeHIN is sponsored officials from ministries of health, academe, and NGOs for a training on IT Governance using the Control Objectives for Information and related Technologies (or COBIT). 

COBIT 5 is the only certification program on IT governance intended to help organizations structure their functions towards reaping maximum benefits from their IT investments. After the course, senior executives will know how to clearly govern over all IT assets and link them to the corporate bottomlines. COBIT assists agencies embed their corporate DNA into their IT systems thus creating value for all stakeholders.

Kosala Randeniya

          I graduated as a Medical Officer on 2008 at University of Peradeniya - Sri Lanka.I completed my Internship on 2009 and since after that worked as a Medical Officer in various stations under Ministry of Health through out the country. Because of my interest on “Public Health Informatics” I joined to the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine for the completion of Msc in Health Informatics. Same time I underwent some short courses on “Geographical Information System at University of Sri Jayawardane Pura” ,” Public Health Data Flow – at National Institute of Health Science” and “Customization of DHIS2 for Medical Professional at HISP-India”. Currently I have developed an electronic Information System for the “Non Communicable Disease Prevention programme - Sri Lanka” by using DHIS2 and It is now under Piloting Phase..
