A group of government officials embarking on mHealth intiatives in Nepal visited the Philippines, August 2014 to learn from various stakeholders, including academic institutions that are involved in designing mHealth initiatives. The National Telehealth Center at the University of the Philippines Manila (NTHC-UP Manila), which also hosts the Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN) Secretariat, presented its key mHealth projects dovetailing its scope and work of AeHIN. In the photo are Nepali officials from the Ministry of Health and Population and the Director of the National Telehealth Center, Dr. Portia Fernandez-Marcelo.

Bangkok, Thailand- Dr. Boonchai Kijsanayotin, AeHIN co-chair promoted AeHIN network during “Criteria for the Reimbursement Program for the Patients eligible for Diagnosis Related Group (DRG)” conference held at the Emerald hotel, Bangkok, Thailand during 10-13 June, 2014. He first introduced the network and AeHIN Hour to the audience and elaborated about the first Thai AeHIN Hour, which was open to all health care and IT professionals from hospitals, government and non-government organizations, universities, and other interested parties.

17 October 2013 Dr Boonchai Kijsanyotin, Co-Chair of the Asia eHealth Information Network, presented AeHIN as a growing network of countries that aims to help each other in the use of ICT in healthcare on his keynote lecture at the ASEAN Telemedicine/e-Health Forum in Kagawa Japan. In his talk, he urged representatives from Japan especially from Kagawa, where models of telemedicine practice are being implemented up to across borders in Chiangmai,Thailand, to join network to share their expertise and support different countries in their eHealth implementation. Dr. Alex Gavino and Christine Ceblano from the National Telehealth Center – UP Manila participated in FIKI as resource persons on Universal Health Coverage and District Health Information System 2. Dr. Gavino presented different perspectives related to health insurance, available global networking support, political, funders and health professionals on the second day of the event.
